Alexander Barth takes over the lead project for automated driving in Upper Austria as the new Managing Director of DigiTrans GmbH
Digitrans GmbH, based in Linz, is the Upper Austrian lead project for automated driving with a focus on automated commercial vehicles and freight logistics. Since 2018, Digitrans has been providing know-how and test infrastructure to make the technology of automated driving fit for Austria’s roads.
Since 01.01.2023 Mr. Alexander Barth has taken over the management of Digitrans GmbH as successor of Mrs. Tatschl-Unterberger. He was appointed as the new Managing Director for DigiTrans GmbH in a multi-stage selection process by a seven-member jury of the Supervisory Board, in which all shareholders of DigiTrans GmbH are represented.
Official handover of the business activities of DigiTrans GmbH
The new managing director, Mr. Alexander Barth, has so far focused on industrial automation. In addition to positions in various sales and management positions at leading international companies such as KEBA, he also brings experience as a former founder in the establishment and expansion of a startup company.
One of his main areas of activity in the past has been human-robot collaboration (HRC), which has many parallels to autonomous driving.
He says it is therefore his motivation to find the best answers for the future of automated transportation, thereby simplifying the challenges people face in the field of mobility and transportation.
In addition to the issue of road safety, optimizing technology to meet the challenges of adverse weather conditions, he believes there is still great potential in raising awareness for the acceptance of automated vehicle technologies.
