The Institute of Automotive Engineering at Graz University of Technology, together with project partners, conducted rain tests with ADAS sensors in artificially reproduced rain for the first time on the proving ground in St. Valentin as part of the InVADE project.
The Digitrans Test Center for Automated Driving, with its innovative expansions on the proving ground in St. Valentin, has managed to be shortlisted for the award “proving Ground of the Year 2022”, alongside numerous other exciting test sites and test tracks from around the world.
On November 16, 2022, the specially developed outdoor rain plant for rain tests of automated vehicles and their sensors was put into operation. The system makes it possible to generate realistic rain at the push of a button, thus significantly simplifying the testing of sensors for environment detection in rain.
As part of the transnational cooperative research project testEPS, funded by the BMK, JOANNEUM RESERACH created a three dimensional digital twin of the test track in St.Valentin as a reference for testing and verifying automated driving functions.
On August 9, application-based practical tests with driver assistance systems were carried out at the Digitrans Test Center in St. Valentin on behalf of AustriaTech in cooperation with Graz University of Technology and Factum as part of the research project “Road Safety and Automated Mobility M7174”.
On the way to automated freight transport – Insights on the AWARD H2020 project. Digitrans project manager Hannes Watzinger provides insights into the three most important challenges during deployment.
Two model racers test the limits of their RC model cars – reaching speeds of up to 205 km/h during a speed test at the Digitrans test center on the proving ground in St. Valentin.
The two companies conducted comprehensive tests on the subject of automated driving on the proving ground in St. Valentin. Both companies carefully examined the visibility of markings in varying conditions when using automated detection systems.
In the project “AI Trustworthiness & Automated Driving”, the Automotive Cluster (AC) of the Business Upper Austria location agency, DigiTrans GmbH, RISC Software GmbH and Software Competence Center Hagenberg GmbH (SCCH) have developed a roadmap for Upper Austria as a business location.
